Chancellor of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation
Dr. A.S. Ganesan, Chancellor of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation, has spent over a decade building the ecosystem thousands of students now call their launchpad.
A graduate of Madras Medical College and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians,
Dr. Ganesan brings the same discipline from medicine into education. Under his leadership, VMRF has grown from its founding beginnings into a university of over 15,000 students and 5,000 employees, spanning Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Engineering, Law, Allied Health Sciences, and Arts and Sciences.
He's made sure VMRF-DU keeps pace with where the world is actually moving — pushing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning into the university's research and classrooms, from Medicine to Engineering. The message to students is simple: you're not being trained for yesterday's industry.
His belief in hands-on, industry-ready learning goes beyond the classroom too. Through the Ganesan Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre, he has helped launch more than 25 startups. That same instinct — that skills should lead directly to opportunity — shaped the Skill Development Centre, and it's the same principle VMAPL Finishing School stands on today.
